frequent asked questions
What is Health Coaching?
Health coaching is a novel and effective process that establishes a professional relationship where we, as coaches, support our clients in their journey to improve and maintain their health. The goal is for clients to achieve the well-being and quality of life they need or desire by setting clear and realistic goals. This approach takes into account the bio-individuality of each person, meaning that we recognise everyone is different, and what works for one person might not work for another. Therefore, the programs offered are strictly personalised.
Health coaching is the evidence-based application of questioning, conversation, and goal-setting skills to help our clients achieve sustainable health behaviour changes that align with their own values and personal strengths. The coach serves as a guide, educating and empowering their client at all times.
As health coaches, we never aim to replace or discredit health professionals. Our work is to complement them in the following ways:
Serving as a bridge between clients and their health professionals
Observing from a “macro” perspective and from the wellness viewpoint
Identifying patterns and connecting the dots
Collaborating directly with health professionals in medical practices
Organising information for multiple health providers
Explaining information provided by health providers to our clients in a simple manner
Referring clients to the appropriate health professionals (doctors, specialists, therapists)
Offering strategies to implement the instructions given by health professionals
Empowering clients to know what questions to ask when facing their health professionals
Why Must Coaching Plans Last a Minimum of 3 Months?
Because this is the minimum time required to see results. Most clients need between 6 and 9 months to achieve their desired outcomes in a healthy and sustainable way.
